Accreditation
What is WASC?
The Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) is the institution in charge of confirming the quality of schools and granting school accreditation.
In the 2022-2023 and 2023-2024 school years, Santa Clara High School conducted a Self Study, analyzing our areas of strength and area in which we need improvement using feedback from teachers, staff, parents, students, and community members. This Self Study serves as the guiding document for a WASC review by a visiting committee in March 2024.
Previously, in the 2017-2018 school year, Santa Clara High conducted a similar Self Study. In March 2018, a visiting team came to SCHS to confirm our report. Based on our Self Study and the visiting team's report, SCHS was granted a six year accreditation (2018-2024) with a revisit to confirm progress after three years. In 2020-2021, the school prepared a midterm report outlining our progress on the 2018-2024 Plan. A visiting team reviewed the report and visited the school (virtually due to COVID-19). Based on our midterm report and the report of the midterm visiting team, WASC reaffirmed our accreditation in April 2021.
