Counseling Department

VISION

The Santa Clara High School Counseling Department will empower all students to become lifelong learners who strive for positive transformation in themselves and the world. Our students will embrace continuous growth, curiosity, and resilience. They will be equipped with college and career-readiness skills to make informed decisions, engage in upward mobility, and thrive in our society.

MISSION

The Santa Clara High School Counseling Department values inclusion and belonging, and we are committed to ensuring that every student, regardless of background or neurodiversity, has access to the resources and opportunities they need to succeed. Through a multi-tiered and data-driven school counseling program, we collaborate with all stakeholders, including students and their parent(s)/guardian(s), to deliver a comprehensive school counseling program focused on three domains of student development: academic, college/career, and social/emotional. We collect and evaluate data to develop equitable support systems, enhance achievement for all students, and bridge opportunity gaps for those who have been historically underserved. As a result, students gain the knowledge and skills to think critically, practice empathy, be self-reliant, and thrive in a global community.
